Keeli Goes to NYC

I had an absolute blast touring NYC with my school. We took about 40 kids and 20 adults and I was only responsible for one, which turned about to be awesome. We had no problems with any kids but myself and some fellow teachers were given a warning and escorted off prison grounds. Although we saw the prison, we didn't bother to read the NO TRESPASSING sign and just kept running on our morning jog. News travels fast with 14 yr. olds and by the time we made it to breakfast the rumor was that we were almost arrested. Gave us all a good laugh, one on many. I had to buy this super cool hat-joke-to keep from freezing because the only hat I had was a Redskin hat and I didn't feel like sticking out that bad with a big hat that says - HEY, LOOK AT ME, I'M A TOURIST-eventhough my backpack, southern accent, and being surrounded by kids gave it away first. Oh, and the look of pure amazement at the city. Incredible to visit, never, ever, would i want to live there. Just can't see myself carrying around the 140 pack diapers from the grocery story since they walk everywhere!

This picture was taken in Central Park. This was probably one of my favorite places to be. Would love to go back just to run around that place. Nothing like I expected-although it did come with a certified crazy lady who yelled at our students and spit on our tour guide. She provided alot of excitement and that was only a few hours into the tour.

Is it summertime already?

With the high in the 70s this weekend it sure does feel like it. We took some time to clean up the boat so that we can put it up for sale. We don't have our hopes up though, just trying to free up a little money for our new home. We are FINALLY closing on the land Wed. Brant enjoyed getting us wet with the house. He still isn't talking much but instead whines, sometimes constantly which can really pluck our nerves. This morning he woke up at 3:38 am and went out the couch and just sat in a dark room. Not sure whats that about but at least he went back to bed when his daddy went to get him. Friday (eeeeeearly) I leave for New York City! I am helping chaperone a field trip with about 30 students from school. I have never been so I am really looking forward to lights and sights! I am responsible for one student (hope I don't loose her)! Of course they give me the "dirty" girl. Wonder what that says about me? We get back late evening Monday. Last time I have been away from Brant that long was over two years ago, I know I will miss him terribly. Hopefully Josh will be able to deal with him that long. He is bringing up our 13 yr. old niece to help out for the weekend. At least I know Brant won't be watching Baby Einstein all weekend!!! So, check back soon. I should have some pics up of NYC. Hopefully I can get a video of wild man-been slacking.
